Its office in Jerusalem is in a beautiful garden – part of the Russian Compound that arose in the nineteenth century and expanded to accommodate the many Russian crusaders in Jerusalem at the time.

For some reason the first image instantly took me back to the Alhambra Palace. Granada. Spain. There is a part of the garden there that looks almost exactly like this. ???
Peaceful, cool and lovely.
Maybe the Crusaders were more influenced by the places they attacked than one might suppose?

I only know what I’ve discovered online, and when I searched again just now I didn’t see the word “crusaders”. Instead, I saw “pilgrims”. Here, for example.
