Its office in Jerusalem is in a beautiful garden – part of the Russian Compound that arose in the nineteenth century and expanded to accommodate the many Russian crusaders in Jerusalem at the time.

For some reason the first image instantly took me back to the Alhambra Palace. Granada. Spain. There is a part of the garden there that looks almost exactly like this. ???
Peaceful, cool and lovely.
Maybe the Crusaders were more influenced by the places they attacked than one might suppose?
That second structure looks both strange and beautiful at the same time. Beautiful garden structures.
The second and third pictures show oil presses.
Old world stuff always looks so cool. Thanks for sharing.
Can you tell us a little more about the Russian Crusaders?
I only know what I’ve discovered online, and when I searched again just now I didn’t see the word “crusaders”. Instead, I saw “pilgrims”. Here, for example.
