Reunions I: It’s a Rhyme this Time

I think this will be the first of a series of posts about reunions. If you want to say anything about reunions – whether you attend them or avoid them, whether you’ve had good or bad experiences, or anything else – please add your thoughts to the comments section. Thank you.

I’m going to a reunion today.
I think it should be fun.
I’ll see the girl who ran away,
Because she decided to follow the sun.

I’m going to a reunion today.
I think it’ll be amusing.
I’ll see the boy who couldn’t stay,
After he fiddled the wiring and fusing.

I’m going to a reunion today.
I think it will be jolly.
We’ll laugh about ancient Mrs. Gray,
Who never left home without her brolly.

I’m going to a reunion today.
It certainly won’t be dull.
I’ll tell them about my holiday
In Majorca – if there’s a lull.

I went to a reunion today.
That’s all I have to say.

Reunions do not spark excitement in me. High school reunions I refuse to attend. Family ones…depends on which part of the family. As for you, it seems you have more to say.

I have never been to a reunion. I never stayed anywhere in childhood long enough to make lasting friendships. Now my other friends lived scattered around the world…not sure I would want to go to a reunion.

I lived in the same house from 18 months to 23 years (except for university). I’m not sure whether it’s better to live in one place or several in childhood. I suppose that depends on other factors.

I’m so glad you commented on my blog because I’d somehow lost you on my sidebar and didn’t think you were posting anymore!! So I’ll go in and fix that. P.S. I avoid reunions like the plague because to me they are. I have gone to a couple but not extended family or high school.

I’m so glad you found me. I wouldn’t like to be lost!

I’m about to blog about my reunion experiences.

If anyone is confused, the comment Karen is talking about is on this blog. Karen has two blogs. I have difficulty keeping up one!
